บ้านในเมืองที่มีพื้นที่จำกัด ราคาที่ดินค่อยๆปรับตัวสูงขึ้น ทำให้การออกแบบต้องคำนึงถึงการใช้พื้นที่ให้คุ้มค่าที่สุด แต่ยังคงไว้ซึ่งประโยชน์ใช้สอยที่สัมพันธ์กัน และใช้งานได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ รูปแบบของบ้านในเมืองสำหรับอนาคตจึงเกิดขึ้น พื้นที่ชั้นล่างใช้สำหรับจอดรถ และกันน้ำท่วม ชั้นสองสำหรับกิจกรรมต่าง ทั้งห้องรับแขก กินข้าว ครัว ส่วนชั้นสามจะเป็นห้องนอน
